it turns out i like the idea of having my own space: a website.. a blog, hosted by myself.. but the friction of updating said own space is just a little too much.

i tried astro, nextjs.. i had jekyll, hugo.. etc.

personal writing not meant for sharing goes fine into my obsidian vault, but for the writing i want to share to make the jump from my local computer to an online space is just that small piece of friction i can't overcome.

i don't like to write markdown in my code editor. i don't like to copy/paste text. i like to be able to easily upload an image. i don't like to have to merge and push. i like wysiwyg. hey, i even kind of like network effects. but i don't like for my data to be owned by corp x.

so when i read the post below, and was linked to leaflet, it started to make sense. being on the 'atproto' is the space that works for me right now.
